CzechBusiness agency formed as CzechTrade and CzechInvest merge

Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček announced that the government will combine the export‑promotion agency CzechTrade with the investment and startup support agency CzechInvest into a single body called CzechBusiness, effective 1 August. The new agency will provide a single point of contact for exporters, investors and startups, aiming to simplify procedures, cut administrative duplication and preserve existing services.

The merger will be carried out on the legal basis of CzechTrade, with CzechInvest’s agenda gradually absorbed over the coming months. Rudolf Klepáček, the current head of CzechTrade, is expected to become director of CzechBusiness. Experts see the integration as a positive step that could streamline support for foreign investment and export activities, while the agency’s future scope may expand to include tourism promotion and innovation support. Both agencies expect to maintain service continuity throughout the transition.
