Czesław Śleziak, former Polish Minister of Environment, dies at 74

Czesław Śleziak, a former Polish Minister of Environment and long-serving Member of Parliament, has passed away at the age of 74.

Śleziak served as the Minister of Environment from 2003 to 2004 under the Leszek Miller administration. His political career spanned from 1991 to 2005, during which he held a mandate in the Sejm. He was deeply connected to the Silesian Voivodeship and the Żywiec region, having been born in Laliki.

In addition to his government roles, Śleziak was an academic at the University of Silesia within the Institute of Political Science and Journalism. He was also a co-founder of the Katowice Economic Club and the Polish Chamber of Ecology. He was noted for his commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and improving the quality of life in Poland.
