Cziffra Festival announces 2026/2027 international season
The Cziffra Festival has announced its 2026/2027 season, featuring an international program that spans Budapest, New York, London, Luxembourg, and Brussels. A central highlight is János Balázs’s ‘Great Liszt Marathon’ at the Budapest Academy of Music on November 8, where he will perform 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies, 12 Transcendental Etudes, six Paganini Etudes, and a Sonata in B minor across three concerts in a single day.
The international tour includes a solo recital titled ‘Hommage à Cziffra’ at Carnegie Hall in New York on November 16, and a performance with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Cadogan Hall in March. Other notable performers scheduled for the season include Daniil Trifonov and Vadym Kholodenko, who will perform in Budapest on February 21.
The season also includes commemorative events, such as a tribute to György Cziffra on his 105th birthday at the Hungarian House of Music, and programs connecting music with literature, fine arts, and science.
