Częstochowa begins stadium design at former Elanex site

Authorities in Częstochowa and the football club Raków Częstochowa have announced the commencement of the design process for a new stadium at the former Elanex site. The project is part of a broader revitalization initiative known as ‘Przędzalnia Przyszłości’ (Spindlery of the Future), which aims to restore the historical fabric of the area.

The regional monument conservator has granted preliminary approval to demolish production halls from the 1960s to make way for the facility, provided that the surrounding historic buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are preserved. The planned stadium is expected to have a capacity of approximately 15,000 seats, designed to meet the requirements for European cup competitions.

To fund the initial design phase, the city is introducing a budget amendment to allocate 5.25 million PLN between 2026 and 2028. The city intends to pursue a public-private partnership model for the overall complex revitalization, while the stadium itself will be a municipal investment.
