Częstochowa honors local figures with new street names

The Częstochowa City Council has approved new names for several streets and public spaces to honor prominent figures in the city’s social, cultural, and public life.

Krzysztof Pośpiech will be commemorated with the naming of a roundabout at the intersection of Warszawska, Krakowska, and Mirowska streets, as well as Daszyńskiego Square. Additionally, a street in the Kiedrzyn district will be named after Grzegorz Lipowski (1936–2026), a former senator, voivode, and engineer who was deeply involved in local industry and social organizations.

Ireneusz Kozera (1952–2021), a former director of the Częstochowa Philharmonic and a cultural animator, will be honored with a road connecting Rondo Mieczysława Biegańskiej to Rondo Leona Silbersteina in the Zawodzia-Dąbia area.
