Częstochowa implements integrated rail and city transit ticketing

Częstochowa has signed an agreement to integrate railway and municipal transit ticketing, making it the first city in the Silesian Voivodeship to implement such a solution with the regional government. The agreement involves the City of Częstochowa, the Silesian Voivodeship, MPK Częstochowa, Koleje Śląskie, Polregio, and Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna.

Under the new system, passengers can use a single monthly ticket for both rail and local transit, including trams and buses. This integrated ticket offers a 20 percent discount compared to purchasing separate monthly passes. The initiative aims to benefit commuters, students, and residents traveling from surrounding areas such as Lubliniec, Radomsko, Zawiercie, and Siewierz.

Officials stated that the goal is to encourage the use of ecological public transport and increase the attractiveness of collective transit over private vehicles. Similar integrated ticketing models have already been utilized within the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.
