Łódź and Chojnice host summer open‑air film screenings and contests

On 14 June, the Fuzja centre in Łódź staged an open‑air screening of Nadine Labaki’s socially‑charged drama “Kafarnaum”. The event marked the finale of the city’s Hummus Day celebrations and was a highlight of the Łódź Many Cultures Festival, aiming to foster dialogue among the city’s diverse communities.

The following day, 15 June, the DKF film festival in Chojnice will present Spanish director Carla Simón’s new drama “Romería”. The festival announced a contest offering double tickets to the screening, which explores family history, memory and the lingering impact of AIDS and heroin addiction.

Both events underline a growing trend of outdoor cinema projects that combine cultural programming with community engagement in Polish cities.
