Łódź and Poznań launch major school and municipal football field renovations
In the Dąbrowa district of Łódź, work has begun on a new sports field and running track for Primary School No. 174. The project, funded by the Fund for Development of Physical Culture under the Sportowa Polska programme, aims to replace the old surface with a modern one before the start of the new school year. Tomasz Śliwiński of the Łódź City Hall said the new surface will make playing more comfortable for students.
Meanwhile, the "Ogródek" sports complex in Poznań’s Wilda neighbourhood is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade of its main football pitch. The renovation includes a heated and irrigated natural‑grass surface, new drainage, retention tanks, new goals and upgraded surrounding infrastructure. Deputy mayor Marcin Gołek said the works are on track to be completed by mid‑August, allowing Warta Poznań to resume matches on the improved field.
