Łódź and surrounding region face power and tram disruptions
The city of Łódź and its surrounding region are experiencing significant utility disruptions. On Monday, August 24, a loss of voltage in the overhead lines caused a sudden halt in tram traffic in central Łódź, specifically on Piłsudskiego Avenue near Sienkiewicza Street. This technical failure forced several tram lines, including 7, 8, 10A, 10B, 12, 13, and 14, to follow detour routes. Additionally, service on Kilińskiego Street was suspended in both directions due to technical issues.
Separately, planned electricity outages have been scheduled for various locations across the Łódź Voivodeship from August 26 to August 28. These outages will affect residents in Łódź (including the Widzew, Bałuty, and Polesie districts), Pabianice, Aleksandrów Łódzki, Bratoszewice, and Rzgów. The interruptions are expected to last from several hours to most of the day depending on the specific street and location.
