Łódź and Wrocław begin major road reconstructions, prompting detours and bus route changes

In Łódź, the city will close the entirety of Szczecińska Street from Aleksandrowska to St. Teresa from the night of July 26‑27 for a comprehensive overhaul, including a new roadway, water mains replacement, lighting, sidewalks and bike paths. The 10 million‑zł project will keep limited access for residents and emergency services, maintain traffic through the Wersalska‑Warzywna corridor, and reroute bus line 83 via Szparagowa, Wersalska, Kaczeńcowa and St. Teresa. Completion is targeted for mid‑2027.

In Wrocław, the next phase of Trzebnicka Street reconstruction will make the road one‑way toward the Trzebnica bridges over the weekend, imposing a detour network through Conrada‑Korzeniowski, Zegadłowicza, Kleczkowska, Reymonta, Staszica Square, Bolesława Chrobrego and St. Vincent streets. Updated signage and traffic signals aim to improve safety. Seven city bus lines and two suburban lines will operate on altered routes, and passengers are advised to check revised timetables.

Both municipalities urge drivers and pedestrians to observe new traffic arrangements and exercise caution during the works.
