Łódź begins redevelopment of Rubinsteina Passage following building demolition

Authorities in Łódź have begun the demolition of a building in the Rubinsteina Passage that formerly housed the city’s first Pizza Hut and the Dziekanka club. The site had fallen into ruin over several years, impacting the aesthetics of the area near Piotrkowska Street.

The demolition is part of a larger urban revitalization project aimed at transforming the passage into a green meeting and relaxation space. Plans include removing dilapidated small architecture, installing new lighting to improve safety, and adding new greenery, such as flower beds and meadows, while preserving existing trees. Local residents are expected to have a say in the final development of the space.
