Łódź conducts large-scale emergency response exercises with robot dog

In Łódź, Poland, emergency services conducted the OSNOWA 2026 exercises to test large-scale crisis response systems. The drill, which involved six months of preparation, took place at Primary School No. 64.

One scenario simulated a carbon dioxide leak, requiring the evacuation of 291 students. To test rescue capabilities, a robot dog equipped with a camera was deployed to locate a simulated victim who had fainted and was unable to exit the building independently. The exercise utilized specialized software and cameras to monitor building infrastructure and track whether all occupants had successfully evacuated.

Participants included Orange Innovation Poland, the LIKI team, the Łódź City Hall Crisis Management Department, state and volunteer fire departments, municipal police, and the Military University of Technology.
