Łódź expands cycling infrastructure with new paths
Infrastructure projects are underway in Łódź to expand the city's cycling network. Construction is progressing along the W-Z route, with the first section between Plac Zwycięstwa and Targowa Street already completed. Work has moved to the segment between Targowa and Kilińskiego Street, where the foundation has been laid and asphalt installation is expected shortly. Remaining sections include the stretches between Przędzalniana and Plac Zwycięstwa, and Kilińskiego and Sienkiewicza. The project, costing approximately 5 million PLN, will also include new sidewalks, benches, and greenery, with completion scheduled for October.
Additionally, a new pedestrian and bicycle path is being built along Unii Lubelskiej Avenue. The first segment, located between Aquapark Fala and the ŁKS stadium, is finished. Current work involves paving and construction between the Aquapark entrance and Konstantynowska Street. This 1.5 million PLN investment aims to provide direct access from the W-Z route and Łódź Kaliska station to Park na Zdrowiu, with an expected completion date in September.
