Global infrastructure: China's highway ring and Poland's military and rail projects

Major infrastructure developments are underway in China and Poland. In China, the Ministry of Transport has announced the ‘Golden Outer Ring’ project, a massive 27,000-kilometer highway network connecting three existing highways (G219, G331, and G228). The project, estimated to cost 47 billion euros, aims to integrate maritime ports and inland logistics hubs to boost economic growth.

In Poland, significant engineering milestones are being reached in both military and civilian sectors. The Military University of Technology and Polimex Mostostal have signed an agreement to build the first MSC 23-150 ‘Cis’ folding bridge. This 100% Polish-designed construction is intended to enhance military mobility for heavy equipment, supporting NATO's eastern flank readiness.

Additionally, construction for the High-Speed Rail (KDP) tunnel under Łódź has progressed with the arrival of six of seven massive components for the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). The 4.6 km tunnel is scheduled to begin drilling in the spring of 2027.
