D. J. Epps transfers to West Virginia University

Slot receiver D. J. Epps has transferred to West Virginia University following a breakout season at Troy. After starting his collegiate career as a walk-on at Troy, Epps spent his first three years primarily on the sidelines, including a redshirt season and a year with only one catch.

In his fourth year at Troy, Epps became a key contributor, recording 47 receptions for 512 yards and five touchdowns. His performance included a standout game against Texas State, where he recorded 10 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns.

Epps chose to join the Mountaineers to play under Rich Rodriguez, believing the coaching staff could further develop his game. He has already received praise from West Virginia's inside receivers coach, Logan Bradley, for his football intelligence and ability to read defensive coverages.
