D. Mehmet Doğan commemorated on second anniversary of death

Commemoration programs were held in Istanbul and Kayseri to mark the second anniversary of the passing of D. Mehmet Doğan, journalist, author, and founder of the Türkiye Yazarlar Birliği (TYB).

In Istanbul, the TYB Istanbul Branch hosted an event where speakers highlighted Doğan’s contributions to Turkish language, culture, and thought. Branch President Mahmut Bıyıklı described Doğan as a defender of the Turkish language, noting his efforts in dictionary studies and his emphasis on the concept of unity through organizations like TYB and Radyo Birlik.

In Kayseri, the TYB Kayseri Branch organized a Mevlid-i Şerif program at the Hunat Mosque. Branch President Vedat Önal noted that Doğan made significant contributions to the country’s culture, arts, language, and literature. The program included a speech by Prof. Dr. Şahin Güven regarding Doğan’s life and legacy.
