Łódź Municipal Library Renovation to Finish 2026
Łódź is modernising its central municipal library on Plac Wolności. The project, financed with over 3.5 million zł from the city budget and the Ministry of Culture’s “Infrastructure for Culture 2025” programme, adds new floors and reconfigures interior spaces.
The ground floor opened to the public in 2021, the first floor in 2022, and work is now under way on the second and third levels. Completion of these upper floors is expected in the second half of 2026. The renovated library will host workshop rooms, individual and group work areas, and venues for educational meetings and community initiatives, expanding its role beyond traditional book lending.
