Łódź Region Secures €43 million EU Funds to Turn Vacant Buildings into Housing

The Marshal's Office of the Łódź Voivodeship announced a funding program of nearly 43 million złoty, financed by the European Union, to create new communal and social rental apartments. Applications open on 20 July and close on 31 August, and may be submitted by municipalities, their organisational units, and entities that provide public services to local governments.

The grant covers the construction or refurbishment of currently damaged or out‑of‑use residential buildings and can also be used to convert vacant office, retail or service premises into dwellings. It may fund the building of new low‑emission structures for social housing, provided the projects meet energy‑efficiency standards. The programme aims to raise the stock of affordable rental homes in the Łódź region.
