Łódź unveils river‑front and park renewal projects slated for completion by 2026

The city of Łódź is advancing two major recreation projects. Near the Jasień River, a nearly million‑zł investment funded by the Regional Water and Environment Fund will create a green urban beach, a wooden pier, a floating educational platform and a bio‑filter island to improve water quality and provide habitat for birds and insects. The contract with the builder was signed in May, and design work is underway with completion expected in autumn 2026.

In the centre of the city, the Jan Kiliński Park is being re‑valuated at a cost of over 15 million zł. Workers will uncover an 80‑metre stretch of the Lamus River, hidden underground for about a century, and add new walkways, seating, a sports zone and a water‑level management system. The park revamp, also scheduled for finish in 2026, aims to give residents fresh green space for walking, running and leisure.

Both initiatives are part of Łódź’s broader effort to expand public recreation areas and enhance urban water environments.
