D1 highway viaduct near Přerov to receive acoustic noise protection
The Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) is preparing to install a unique acoustic cover on the D1 highway viaduct near Přerov to mitigate noise for residents of Dluhonice. Local inhabitants have reported that the sounds caused by vehicles crossing the bridge's expansion joints have been unbearable, particularly at night, since the section opened in December.
While professional noise measurements conducted in May indicated that the highway complies with hygienic limits, the municipality of Přerov and local residents disagreed with these findings. Consequently, the city entered into a public law contract with ŘSD to provide a 5.5 million CZK subsidy for noise reduction measures. The project focuses on the expansion joint at support number 21 of the viaduct crossing the Bečva River. The components for the acoustic solution are currently being manufactured, with delivery expected by the end of October.
