D3 launches Frontier membership for new TLD applicants

D3 has launched ‘Frontier’, a new membership program designed for applicants of new Top-Level Domains (TLDs). The program allows users to deposit USDC into supported vaults to earn interest and points. Users can then allocate these points to specific TLDs they are interested in, providing a way to gauge actual market demand for new domain extensions.

As ICANN processes over 1,600 new TLD applications—the first such round since 2012—D3 aims to connect registry operators with potential buyers using real financial data. While points do not guarantee the reservation or ownership of specific domain names, they can be used to establish priority access once a TLD namespace is officially launched and registration opens.

D3 has implemented vaults based on Solana and Hyperliquid. Users retain control over their principal and can withdraw it at any time. If a selected TLD string is not ultimately delegated, points can be redistributed to other strings.
