Día de los Muertos celebrations scheduled for October 24

Various community celebrations for Día de los Muertos are scheduled for October 24.

The Eiteljorg Museum will host a free community celebration featuring performances, demonstrations, and artwork. The event aims to explore the Indigenous roots and history of the holiday, offering visitors the opportunity to meet artists and shop in a mercado. The museum will offer extended hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the occasion.

In Gilroy, California, the fourth annual Día de Muertos Festival & Wellness Fair and the La Ofrenda Festival will take place in downtown Gilroy from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event features vibrant ofrendas, marigold decorations, and various performances. Supported by the Gilroy Elevate the Arts Grant, the festival includes wellness vendors and a Transit & Mobility Plaza.
