Día de Muertos Gala celebrates Latino culture and talent

The sixth annual Día de Muertos Gala, hosted by Carlos Eric Lopez at the Universal Studios backlot, brought together prominent entertainment figures to celebrate Latino culture and honor creatives from underserved communities.

During the event, EGOT winner Rita Moreno received the Vida y Legado (Life & Legacy) Award in recognition of her career and impact on Latino performers. Guillermo Rodríguez was also honored with the Alegría Award. The gala, which originated as a small gathering of friends, has evolved into a significant Hollywood event aimed at sharing the traditions of Día de Muertos with a broader audience.

Eva Longoria attended the celebration, wearing traditional Calavera-inspired makeup and a sequined black gown. Longoria used the platform to advocate for increased investment in Latino talent.
