Da Lat waste treatment plant denied request to suspend operations

The Lâm Đồng Department of Natural Resources and Environment has denied a request from Green Energy Environment Co., Ltd. to temporarily suspend operations at the Da Lat solid waste treatment plant. The company had requested to halt operations starting October 1, 2026, citing financial difficulties and a lack of resources to maintain activities.

Authorities have instructed the company to continue receiving and processing municipal solid waste to prevent disruptions to urban sanitation and environmental hygiene. The Department emphasized that the company cannot unilaterally stop or refuse waste collection until official approval for suspension is granted.

Furthermore, the company has been directed to complete several legal and technical requirements. These include updating investment certificates, clarifying the legality of construction projects, and providing detailed documentation regarding the technology's capacity, waste processing volumes, and the basis for service pricing. The company must report its progress to the Department and the Xuân Trường Ward People's Committee by September 25, 2026.
