Da Nang aims to become a major regional growth pole by 2075

Vietnam is advancing long-term development plans for Da Nang, aiming to transform the city into a major economic growth pole for Central Vietnam. During an appraisal meeting for the city's general planning through 2050 with a vision to 2075, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van emphasized the goal of building a modern, smart, and eco-friendly coastal city with international appeal.

The strategic vision positions Da Nang as a national and regional hub for innovation, logistics, maritime economy, finance, and digital transformation. By 2075, the city aims to become a globally connected, high-identity urban center in Asia, meeting the criteria for a special municipality.

In conjunction with urban expansion, local initiatives in Tam My commune are focusing on sustainable green economy models. This includes developing tourism linked to the habitat restoration of the red-shanked douc langur, a rare primate species endemic to Vietnam. These efforts aim to balance biodiversity conservation with sustainable livelihoods for local communities through eco-tourism and scientific research.
