Da Nang expands tourism and ecological garden economy
Da Nang is implementing strategic plans to expand its tourism and agricultural sectors through ecological and circular models. The city’s 2026-2030 tourism development plan for the southern region aims to create a multi-layered tourism space by connecting seas, islands, rivers, lakes, and historical sites. By integrating these resources through cultural narratives, the city intends to extend visitor stays and reduce pressure on the central urban areas and Hoi An.
Simultaneously, the city is focusing on developing its garden economy, leveraging over 150,000 gardens and farms. The goal is to shift from pure production volume to a high-value model that incorporates processing, eco-tourism, and digital transformation. This approach seeks to enhance livelihoods in rural areas by combining crop cultivation with livestock, medicinal plants, and agricultural processing, thereby maximizing the value of land and local resources.
