Da Nang expands urban development toward southern center

Da Nang is expanding its urban development toward a multi-polar model, with the southern central area identified as a strategic growth zone under the city's 2021–2030 planning vision. This expansion aims to leverage available land, coastal advantages, and new economic drivers such as an international financial center, free trade zones, and high-tech innovation hubs.

Experts note a significant migration of residents toward the southern center, particularly in areas like Hoa Xuan and Ngu Hanh Son. This shift is driven by the desire for more space while maintaining connectivity to the Hai Chau central district. The development of infrastructure, including the dredging of the Co Co River, is expected to further enhance connectivity between Da Nang and the heritage site of Hoi An, creating new opportunities for commercial and service models like shophouses.
