Da Nang launches exclusive tea‑tasting tour at Ban Co Peak
Da Nang’s Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches officially opened a tea‑tasting tour on Ban Co (Bàn Cờ) Peak on 25 July 2026. The launch, timed to sunrise, is part of the Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2026 and was developed together with Suong Mai Thai Nguyen Tea JSC.
The high‑end product targets a small luxury segment, limiting each session to six guests and offering two time slots – early morning for sunrise and early evening for sunset. Visitors experience a formal tea‑opening ritual, a tea‑brewing performance, and stories about Vietnamese tea culture. Nguyen Duc Vu, head of the management board, said the tour “is not chasing quantity but focusing on quality.”
The concept was inspired by billionaire Bill Gates’s March 2024 visit to the peak, during which he and his girlfriend drank tea prepared by artisan Hoang Anh Suong. That brief moment raised the profile of Ban Co Peak, turning it into a sought‑after spot for domestic and international tourists and showcasing Vietnam’s tea heritage amid the natural scenery of the Son Tra Peninsula.
