Da Nang Military Command prepares UAVs and canoes for flood rescue

The Da Nang Military Command has implemented proactive measures to prepare for potential flooding and isolation in high-risk areas. Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang Military Command, has directed local authorities to shift from reactive responses to proactive adaptation. Key preparations include stationing canoes in areas prone to deep flooding and programming UAV flight paths to facilitate reconnaissance, search and rescue, and the delivery of essential supplies if road transport is cut off.

In a practical application of these readiness efforts, military personnel conducting canoe training on the Han River successfully rescued a young man who jumped from the Thuan Phuoc Bridge on September 13. The training group, composed of instructors and students from the Da Nang Military Command, responded immediately to reports of a drowning incident, bringing the individual to shore for first aid and subsequent medical transport.
