Da Nang opens Vietnam-Japan Festival 2026 to deepen cooperation

The People's Committee of Da Nang inaugurated the Vietnam‑Japan Festival 2026 at Bien Dong Park on July 9, running through July 12. The event aims to strengthen cultural exchanges and broaden cooperation between Da Nang and Japanese municipalities, businesses and institutions in areas such as investment, trade, tourism, education, science and technology.

Vice‑president of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi highlighted the festival’s role as a key diplomatic platform that supports the city’s new development phase and its ambition to become a modern, smart coastal hub. Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki affirmed Japan’s commitment to mobilise both public and private sectors to assist Da Nang’s growth.

Around 100 pavilions showcase Vietnamese and Japanese culture, cuisine, tourism products and services. The programme includes judo and Vovinam demonstrations, an Earthing Marathon, friendly football matches, baseball‑5 introductions, traditional Bon Odori dances, a cosplay contest and other artistic performances. Japanese delegations will visit Da Nang’s Digital Software Park 2, the forthcoming International Financial Centre, the High‑Technology Park and industrial zones to explore investment opportunities.
