Da Nang police arrest two women for 7 billion VND fraud

Police in Da Nang have arrested Phùng Thị Minh Sen and Ngô Thùy Linh for fraud and the appropriation of assets totaling more than 7.1 billion VND. The two women allegedly used fake profiles of three individuals claiming they needed loans to settle bank maturities to deceive a victim, identified as Ms. T. T. Đ. T.

According to investigators, the suspects forged signatures, handwriting, and fingerprints on various loan documents to create a facade of legality. The funds were not used for their stated purpose of bank loan settlements but were instead used by the suspects to pay off personal debts and other private expenses.

As of the investigation, Linh has recovered 1.95 billion VND, while Sen has yet to recover approximately 1.8 billion VND. Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation and have called on anyone with information regarding similar activities by these individuals to contact the Da Nang Criminal Police Department.
