Da Nang police hunt fraud suspects in two separate scams
Da Nang police have issued a public notice to locate Lê Đăng Phước Nguyên (born 1994), who is accused of defrauding roughly 529.5 million VND from multiple individuals by presenting false claims of needing capital for business expansion between September 2018 and April 2019. After receiving the funds, Nguyên fled the city and cut off all contact. Authorities are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Separately, police detained Phạm Thị Hương (born 1977, originally from Nghệ An) on 17 June for allegedly swindling about 3.63 billion VND. She promised investors a chance to contribute capital for discounted Heineken beer purchases, but instead used the money for personal debts and expenses. The suspect has been placed in temporary custody while investigators continue to build the case.
