Da Nang police secure surrender of gambling ring mastermind

Da Nang police have successfully persuaded Truong Cong Nhat Luan, a high-profile fugitive, to surrender. Luan is identified as a key mastermind in a large-scale online gambling ring involving transactions totaling approximately 350 billion VND.

The criminal network was uncovered through a joint operation between Quang Nam and Da Nang police under special case BQĐ9. The investigation has led to the indictment of 48 defendants. Luan had been facing charges for organizing gambling but fled to avoid authorities, prompting a wanted notice in May 2026. Following a specialized pursuit operation, he has now turned himself in.
