Da Nang police warn of insurance impersonation scams

The Da Nang Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division has issued a warning regarding scammers impersonating social insurance (BHXH) and health insurance (BHYT) officials. These criminals use phone calls and messages to collect personal information and steal assets.

Common tactics include posing as officials conducting satisfaction surveys or requesting data updates for 2026. Scammers may also claim that a citizen's health insurance card is faulty, expired, or requires data updates to create anxiety about medical benefits. Once trust is established, they direct victims to fill out forms, click malicious links, or install unauthorized applications.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and strictly avoid providing OTP codes, bank passwords, or account details to strangers. Citizens are also warned against installing any unknown software or applications recommended by these individuals to prevent data theft and financial loss.
