Da Nang reports large-scale schools following mergers

Following recent administrative restructuring and mergers, Da Nang now has 11 educational institutions with a scale exceeding 100 classes. This group includes seven primary schools, three secondary schools, and one continuing education center.

Le Thi Bich Thuan, Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training, noted that while large-scale management requires higher standards for school boards regarding professional activities and staff assignment, no significant management difficulties have been reported yet.

A notable challenge involves schools with multiple branches located at significant distances from their main campuses. For instance, Nui Thanh Primary School operates seven different branches. In mountainous areas, some branches are located up to 50 km away from the main site, while some continuing education center facilities are separated by approximately 70 km. These distances create obstacles for personnel deployment and centralized professional activities. To address this, the Department has advised schools to organize extracurricular and professional activities flexibly across both main and branch locations to maintain cohesion.
