Da Nang studies using crushed sand for public investment projects

The Da Nang Department of Construction is researching the use of crushed sand derived from construction stone for concrete and mortar in public investment projects. This initiative aims to ensure a stable supply of construction materials and promote a circular economy within the city's construction industry.

Authorities have conducted inspections of ready-mixed concrete facilities using crushed sand and have reported no complaints regarding construction quality thus far. To fully evaluate effectiveness, the department will continue to synthesize inspection results, quality management records, and laboratory test data.

The city is currently collaborating with the Institute of Building Materials under the Ministry of Construction to develop a construction material development plan for Da Nang through 2030, with an orientation toward 2050. This plan focuses on assessing current production, forecasting demand, and promoting green, resource-efficient materials to support urban expansion and industrial zone development.
