Da Nang leads tourism searches for Vietnamese and Thai travelers
Vietnam is seeing significant shifts in tourism patterns, driven by digital transformation and changing traveler behaviors. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has revamped its official website, vietnam.travel, to focus on experience-based content such as culture, nature, and wellness to better inspire international visitors.
Data from Agoda reveals that for the upcoming National Day holiday (August 29 to September 2), Da Nang is the most searched domestic destination among Vietnamese travelers, followed by Nha Trang and Da Lat. Coastal destinations like Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, and Phu Quoc also remain highly popular. For international travel, Bangkok is the top choice for Vietnamese tourists.
Additionally, Da Nang has emerged as a leading destination for Thai travelers seeking long-term stays of 30 nights or more. This trend is attributed to the rise of “bleisure” travel, where flexible work models allow travelers to combine remote work with leisure. Other top destinations for Thai long-term travelers include Bali, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh City.
