Vietnam police crack down on human trafficking, data theft, and public disorder

Police in Vietnam have conducted several high-profile criminal investigations and arrests across various provinces. In Da Nang, authorities successfully dismantled a human trafficking ring, rescuing eight girls under the age of 16. The operation targeted karaoke establishments where female staff were being traded between managers to settle debts. Three individuals, including Đặng Quốc Vũ, have been detained on charges of trafficking persons under 16.

In other regions, law enforcement has addressed diverse criminal activities. In Lao Cai, four individuals were prosecuted for public disorder after a video surfaced on social media showing teenagers driving recklessly with weapons. Additionally, four former tax officials in the same province were arrested for abusing their positions during infrastructure fee collections at the Kim Thành - Lào Cai border gate.

Other notable actions include the arrest of a group in Hưng Yên for armed robbery of pets, the prosecution of a business owner in Ninh Bình for accounting violations, and the detention of a man in Da Nang for a fatal stabbing following a noise dispute. In Đắk Lắk, two brothers were arrested for illegally trading approximately 120 million pieces of personal data.
