Da Nang woman recovers from severe heatstroke and organ damage

A 54-year-old woman, Do Thi Hue, is recovering after suffering severe heatstroke while clearing fields in Da Nang, Vietnam. The incident occurred on August 9 when she began working outdoors during the midday heat and was found unconscious later that afternoon.

Upon arrival at Viet-Han Da Nang Hospital, the patient presented with a body temperature of 40°C, rapid heartbeat, decreased blood oxygen levels, and impaired consciousness. Medical examinations revealed critical complications, including acute kidney failure, blood clotting disorders, and myocardial injury.

Following intensive care involving fluid resuscitation, respiratory support, and blood pressure management, the patient's condition has stabilized. Doctors expect her to be discharged on August 19. Medical professionals have issued warnings to avoid prolonged sun exposure during high temperatures and to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms like dizziness, high fever, or loss of consciousness occur.
