Da-Yeh University invites US expert to teach nursing informatics

Da-Yeh University’s Department of Nursing and its post-baccalaureate nursing program have invited Dr. Todd F. Ambrosia, a former dean of several American nursing colleges, to serve as a visiting faculty member. Dr. Ambrosia is co-teaching a “Nursing Informatics” course alongside Associate Professor Hsu Chen-yuan.

The curriculum focuses on the integration of information technology, information management, and healthcare. As medical digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) advance, the course aims to equip nursing students with the ability to understand the design, application, and management of health information systems. Key topics include hardware, software, databases, clinical information systems, information governance, medical regulations, cybersecurity, ethics, and policy.

A primary goal of the program is to foster interprofessional communication. Students learn to act as a bridge between medical professionals and IT specialists, translating nursing requirements into practical technological applications. The initiative allows students to engage directly with international experts to prepare for the evolving demands of smart healthcare environments.
