DABA tackles dog attacks while promoting pet adoption in Ciudad Juárez

The municipal animal welfare agency DABA in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, has announced that 89 dogs and cats are currently available for adoption. All animals are vaccinated, sterilized and micro‑chipped, and the organization runs a strict adoption protocol to ensure responsible ownership.

In 2026 the city has recorded 233 incidents of dog attacks on people. DABA officials say they are investigating each case, rescuing aggressive or mistreated animals, and working to reduce future incidents by raising public awareness about irresponsible pet ownership and stray animal populations.
