Bosnian clubs face mixed fortunes in UEFA Conference League qualifiers
Velež Mostar were eliminated 1‑0 by Slovak side DAC Dunajská Streda after a bizarre penalty in the 59th minute when defender Anes Omerović handled the ball, allowing Gagiu to convert the spot‑kick.
Zrinjski Mostar also suffered a 1‑0 defeat, this time away to Icelandic Valur in Reykjavik. Despite dominating possession (56 %) and registering 16 shots, the only goal came from Tryggvi Hrafn Haraldsson at the 65th minute. Coach Simon Rožman lamented missed chances, saying “Europe does not forgive”.
In contrast, Borac Banja Luka secured a comfortable 3‑0 win over Moldovan Petrocub, taking a strong lead into the second leg. Goals came from Damir Hrelja, Luka Juričić and Ante Roguljić, giving the Bosnian side momentum in the competition.
