Dachau kicks off week‑long summer festival with sports, concerts and fireworks

The town of Dachau opened its summer festival on 8 August with a schedule of events running through 17 August. Highlights include a table‑tennis tournament hosted by TSV, a football match for the local rescue organisations, a stand‑up concert in front of the town hall, and the official opening of the festival by Mayor Florian Hartmann.

Daily activities feature aerial displays by the Aero‑Club from the Gröbenried airfield, a dog‑run, senior‑citizen programmes, a children’s day, tennis championships, a chess tournament, a golf charity event and a 49th‑edition fireworks display. The programme also includes a senior‑women’s afternoon, a family day, and a final fireworks show on the evening of 17 August.

The festival combines sport, music, community gatherings and charitable competitions, aiming to attract residents and visitors throughout the week.
