Dachser Iberia targets 42% cut in greenhouse‑gas emissions by 2030

Dachser Iberia has outlined a roadmap to reduce its direct greenhouse‑gas emissions by 42% by 2030, lowering them from 6.122 tonnes of CO₂‑equivalent in 2025 to 3.551 tonnes in 2030. The plan, covering operations in Spain and Portugal, focuses on five pillars: decarbonising transport, adopting low‑carbon alternative fuels such as HVO100, improving operational efficiency, digitising processes, and boosting energy efficiency in facilities.

The company aims to progressively electrify its own fleet and that of partner carriers, already operating 20 electric trucks in the Iberian market and targeting full fleet electrification by the end of the decade. Where electrification is not yet feasible, low‑emission fuels will be expanded. Additional measures include route optimisation, higher vehicle occupancy, use of megatrailers and duo‑trailers, LED lighting, smart‑control systems, upgraded climate‑control equipment, lithium‑ion forklifts and onsite photovoltaic generation. A new corporate methodology will track emissions across shipments, including multimodal legs and refrigerated transport. “There is no single solution to decarbonise logistics. Achieving our goals requires a blend of electrification, alternative fuels, operational efficiency, innovation and digitalisation,” said Alberto Gil, Team Leader of Energy Management and Sustainability at Dachser Iberia. The plan will be reviewed annually to adjust to technological and regulatory developments.
