Dacia CEO highlights driver use of ADAS silence button amid rising EU regulations

Dacia CEO Katrin Adt has revealed that the most frequently used feature in the brand's vehicles is the “My Safety” button, which allows drivers to quickly deactivate various audible warnings from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The company's reliance on this feature highlights a growing tension between increasing European Union safety mandates and consumer preferences. Dacia has already implemented approximately 100 regulations and anticipates an additional 107 requirements by 2030.

According to Adt, managing these complex regulatory requirements consumes roughly one-quarter of the company's research and development budget. To maintain its focus on affordability and simplicity, Dacia is advocating for the EU to consider a temporary freeze on new regulations for small cars to prevent rising production costs from being passed on to consumers.
