Dacia Sandero gets turbo upgrade as Volkswagen launches second‑gen T‑Roc in Europe

Dacia has introduced a new entry‑level version of the Sandero in Spain, replacing the 65 hp 1.0 SCe engine with a 100 hp 1.0 TCE turbo that delivers 200 Nm of torque, a top speed of 180 km/h and a combined fuel consumption of 5.4 l/100 km. The model, built in Morocco, is offered with a six‑speed manual gearbox and the Essential trim level, which includes LED headlights, lane‑assist, fatigue detection and other safety features. Pricing starts at a competitive level for the Spanish market.

Volkswagen’s compact SUV T‑Roc, now in its second generation, has been tested with a 150 hp engine and an ECO emissions label. The vehicle is longer than its predecessor, offering increased interior space and a larger boot. It retains distinctive design cues such as a contrasting roof and a shark‑fin C‑pillar, while adopting a more dynamic styling language. The T‑Roc is built on the MQB Evo platform and is available with conventional hybrid powertrains, positioning it against rivals like the Toyota C‑HR, MG ZS and Opel Mokka.
