Dacia Sandero tops European car sales in July

The Dacia Sandero returned to the top of the European automotive market in July, recording 19,709 registrations. This represents a marginal increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year.

Following the Sandero, the Volkswagen Golf secured second place with 17,655 sales, a 14% increase, while the Volkswagen T-Roc took third with 16,952 units, despite a 17% year-on-year decline. Other top performers included the Toyota Yaris Cross and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The most significant shift involved the Tesla Model Y. After ranking first in June with 32,685 registrations, the model fell to 73rd place in July with 5,138 units, a 3.5% decrease from the previous year. This volatility is attributed to Tesla’s delivery pattern, which typically concentrates shipments toward the end of each quarter.

Other notable market movements included a 45% surge in Mercedes-Benz GLC sales and significant growth for BYD models, such as the Seal U, which saw a 61% increase in sales.
