The Dacia Spring has been ranked as one of the best city cars available in the United Kingdom for 2026 by Top Gear. The electric model was placed second in a selection of ten vehicles deemed suitable for urban traffic, appearing alongside competitors such as the Toyota Aygo X, Hyundai Inster, and Kia Picanto.

Reviewers highlighted the vehicle's extreme affordability, noting it is the cheapest “real” car currently available in the UK, with starting prices below £12,000. Other praised attributes include its low weight and efficiency. While the car offers a range of approximately 225 kilometers (140 miles) with a 24.3 kWh battery, testers noted that comfort decreases significantly when carrying passengers, particularly regarding the suspension.

Performance is described as playful when driving solo, though acceleration is modest, with 0-100 km/h times ranging between 13 and 19 seconds depending on the power variant. Dacia also offers a “Cargo” version without rear seats for utilitarian purposes.
