Dacia suspends production and launches voluntary redundancy program
Dacia is suspending production at its Mioveni plant for two days on October 9 and 12 due to declining orders. The production halt is expected to impact approximately 3,000 vehicles, with an estimated value of 60 million euros.
In response to industry challenges and the company’s 'FutuReady' strategic plan, Dacia and Renault Technologie Romania have launched a voluntary redundancy program. The initiative aims to optimize costs and adjust personnel structures following a reduction in daily production from previous levels to 1,060 vehicles per day.
Compensation for departing employees is based on seniority. Net payments range from 45,000 lei for those with up to two years of service to 210,000 lei for employees with over 16 years of service. Employees with confirmed occupational diseases or work-related disabilities may receive 240,000 lei net regardless of seniority. Applications for the program are open between October 5 and October 20, 2026.
