Dacia to restyle Duster SUV to combat falling sales
Dacia is planning a significant restyling of the Duster SUV, scheduled for 2028, to combat declining sales and increasing competition. In France, January 2026 registrations fell to 8,842 units, a 41% decrease compared to the same period in 2025.
Several factors contribute to this decline, including the internal competition from the Dacia Bigster and the rise of Chinese brands like MG and JAECOO, which offer advanced technology and hybrid options at competitive prices. To regain market position, the 2028 update will focus on design changes while retaining the CMF-B platform.
The new design, influenced by the Striker model, will feature a 'T' shaped light signature with horizontal LED strips and a new illuminated logo. While the exterior will undergo aesthetic changes, including new wheels and side mirrors, the model is expected to maintain its current engine options, such as mild hybrid, full hybrid, and LPG. This update is particularly relevant for the Turkish market, where the model is produced at the OYAK Renault facilities in Bursa.
